Rhapsody Coaching, a personal and business coaching company, came to me asking for a single page digital brochure for download, featuring their services. Working with their brand guidelines we created something fun, colourful and engaging while maintaining the brand image. Their logo marque provided a great visual device to place images and text within. The overall brochure designed to be viewed onscreen, or tablet.

It was a privilege to be involved in the design development and production of a large format hardback coffee table book featuring the unique work of world renowned artist and sculptor Philip Jackson. A year in the making this 200 page book is a thing to behold, filled from cover to cover with essays and photographs of Jackson’s incredible sculptures and maquettes.

Depden Care Farm are a Suffolk based charity providing therapeutic placements for adults with learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries to engage with activities on the farm and learn about growing plants and taking care of animals. It is a young charity with big ambitions and we were asked to produce a document detailing their strategic plan for the next five years. The brief was to pull from their bright and colourful logo and expand that into an equally bright and engaging brochure filled with images of their attendees.

Florence George Kitchens are a bespoke solid wood kitchen manufacturer based in Hampshire. We were asked to visit their factory workshop and photograph their processes to accompany a series of inspirational images which we then compiled into a beautiful A4 landscape brochure. We also produced a range of materials for marketing including pull-up banners, postcards, and business stationery.

Yobri, a Zambian based livestock farm and haulier, asked Tidbury Media to develop a simple logo design that represented travel and destination, with a reference to farming. Combining a simple icon with a modern typestyle in a rich colour palate we were able to establish a strong brand visual to roll out.

We then produced a set of lorry curtains and managed the shipment to Zambia.

Nordic health supplement manufacturer, NYME, asked us to help with their brand overhaul, starting with a series of product labels for a new range vitamin gummies. We’ve been working closely with NYME to develop a contemporary design with a Nordic style, which is now being rolled out across their products and marketing materials including brochures, posters and digital assets. We also provided product photography for POS and marketing.

Travel experts NOT JUST TRAVEL came to Tidbury Media in search of a new look and feel for their internal and external comms. This coincided with the launch of their new Concierge Service. We produced a wide range of event banners and social media assets as well as brochures and business stationery.

CBD oil and health spa product retailer, Empwr, asked us to photograph their range of products for online POS. The Brand image is strong, so we wanted to keep the style of the images clean and simple.

Home renovation and construction company ‘AIM’ (A. I. McKellar) asked us to transform their visual branding into something modern with a fresh look and feel. It was important for continuity to retain a palette close to the original, but otherwise the canvas was blank. We wanted to keep the marque simple but strong. We’ve used a modern typeset and adapted the dot of the ‘i’ to subtly represent a hard hat, all positioned carefully beneath a stylish roofline that represents strength, completion, protection and shelter, while the pitch of the roof, set in contrast to the lettering below, has connotations of ‘moving up’, development and improvement. The strapline providing a firm foundation for the logo to rest on.

We then rolled out the new branding across all touch points including building a new website, vehicle signage, brochures. We also provided new staff headshots!

Pegasus Whitening manufacture and retail home teeth whitening kits. They asked Tidbury Media to develop a new logo marque and create a contemporary design for their whitening kit. We were briefed with a colour palette and to find a way of incorporating a pegasus (winged horse) graphic. There are a large number of different organisations and companies using the name Pegasus and horse image. We wanted to create an abstract image that could be used as a visual device across packaging and future marketing collateral which form part of the brand visuals.

Nicoles Jungle is a small business creating and hand making miniature exotic plants from paper. Nicole sells her plants online and wanted a series of images and a short film documenting her processes for use across social media. I spent a morning with Nicole following and capturing every detail from digital illustration to packing for dispatch. We shot all the stills first, then ran through the whole process again and shot film using a smartphone and gimbal.

Nutritional supplement retailer Miss Gummies came to me looking for a simple label design solution for their new range of gummies targeting middle aged women. Working closely with their team to realise their vision these three products form the beginnings of their growing product range.

Alomar Aloe commissioned Tidbury Media to develop the look and feel for their new range of Aloe Vera based cosmetic products. The brief was to develop a clean, clinical style to compete alongside high-end products in the market. A white label with tones of green featuring a silver foil detail.

The Emsworth Deli came to us asking for a rebrand for their local delicatessen and food delivery service. Their original visual identity had been created quickly by the owner when the business opened so it was time for a modern refresh. Retaining the brand colour we created a contemporary logo marque reducing the full ‘Delicatessen’ wording to ‘Deli’ which is how people refer to the business and is more prominent. We created a circular logo design, which now works well across touch points, using a friendly and welcoming sans serif typeset.

Oh My lunch is a healthy lunch ordering system for large corporations. Tidbury Media was enlisted to develop the brand visual and roll it out across touch-points for a new launch. Assets included posters, leaflets, digital display screens and banners. The logo provided a natural design device for placing image and text and creating a dynamic aesthetic.

Artisan cheese maker, Stamford, commissioned Tidbury Media to create a logo and series of seasonal labels for their brand, Whyte Wytch.

Chewable toothpaste tablet manufacturer Tongue’s, came to Tidbury Media looking for an attractive and engaging design for their pouch packaging. With an established brand and colour palate in place we were tasked with creating something modern in line with Tongue’s vision.

Lebanese restaurant chain, Maroush, have a series of restaurants and take-away food establishments scattered across central London. We were asked to come on board to create a campaign for Christmas 2019 including a food photography shoot in their flagship high-end restaurant, Crockers Folly, the images from which were then used in the roll out of their printed materials and social media campaigns. Materials including posters, table cards, gift tags, menus and table placemats.

Alongside this they recently launched two new businesses. The first is taking their exquisite cuisine on the road offering outdoor catering for corporate and domestic functions. For this they were seeking a simple signature style logo marque taking the name from their Father, the founder or Maroush, who is still actively involved in the running. The second is in food production and for this we created another logo marque and set of promotional pull-up banners.

Most recently we’ve been developing January healthy eating campaign collateral including these attractive table displays highlighting their healthy eating offers. As well as taking care of the design, we also had the opportunity to shoot the imagery too.

The Beach Hut Café in Hamble asked us to capture their take-away food options for online menu’s and promotions. The food itself was typical of fast turn-around kiosk served, so the images needed something to help attract customers. Using different coloured papers in the background to create a sense of fun worked really well.

Following a successful photoshoot we were asked to update their overall branding starting with a new logo, adapting and improving their previous logo.

‘I Hear Those Boots’ is the biography of Betty Gillett, an 80 year-old resident of Hampshire who grew up in the midst of conflicts between Japan and Malaysia in the early part of the 20th Century. Her story reveals the brutality of war, and as a child how she escaped death by hiding beneath the floorboards. In later life she flourished and has enjoyed an amazing life of world travel. We had the privilege of reading and typesetting the book before creating unique cover.

We’ve been privileged to work with a variety of organisations throughout the UK and internationally. Here are selection of logo design devices we’ve created from our studio in Portsmouth.

We were asked to create a brochure to celebrate the first year of the Lake District Foundation. The publication highlighted the charities achievements and goals. We took advantage of the leaf device in their logo to add shape to the images throughout.

Apparel company, Warrior State Apparel, came to Tidbury Media with a simple brief – to create a logo marque that would ‘kick ass’. A sounding board of words… ‘strong, cool, urban, warrior, industrial’ is what we had to go on and the results achieved a massive thumbs-up.

Tony Beasley really did run away from home to go to sea. This book recalls some of the adventures he had during his time in the Royal Navy. A remarkable story that includes his retelling of the part he played in a mission that took place during the Cold War. One that took place on a vessel he had vowed he would never serve on, yet a mission that, with typical stoicism and courage, he faced up to and dealt with in such a way that, ultimately, he emerged from it being regarded as a hero. A hero who wasn’t allowed to tell anyone where he had been or what he had done. Memories of a life spent at sea told with a refreshing mix of dark humour and brutal honesty. Tony doesn’t hold back, he tells things as he sees it. Even if it gives someone a bloody nose in the process.

Commissioned as part of ‘Everyone Has A Story To Tell’, working alongside Author Edward Couzens-Lake, we created this engaging book jacket design and typeset the book. Tony, from Emsworth in Hampshire, was overwhelmed with the book jacket design.

DiaZo Cosmetics asked us to create a stylish new logo and product label design to be rolled out across their range of cosmetics. We have since supplied product labels for their entire range.

Asian food manufacturer ‘Katayama’ came to Tidbury Media looking for a comprehensive branding and graphic design package including, logo design, brochure design, business stationery, web banners, poster design and product packaging design including labels for a new range of cooking sauces. The logo design is Asian inspired and features a stylish typeface set alongside an orchid marque. Packaging labels for the range of cooking sauces and ingredients, representing a wide variety of countries and cultures, featured simple ingredients set against a sleek background. A stunning, full colour, glossy brochure design sets out the company objectives and ethos.

Ex professional footballer – now broadcaster and public speaker, Paul McVeigh, approached Tidbury Media to transform his manuscript into a finished paperback book. We typeset the manuscript and produced the cover design from his brief. His book will now be available through his website and available for purchase at his events and attendances.

In recent years we’ve worked with US based publishers in the conception and ongoing production of three magazine titles. Campus Talk is a free lifestyle magazine aimed at the student market. Flourish is a free lifestyle magazine aimed at men and women. The title was split 50/50 with a female cover and articles on one side, the whole magazine then flipped to reveal the men’s section. Gator Country, a college sports title based in Florida. The magazine featured a monthly run down of sporting events and achievements from across Florida’s major universities.

Coffee Sense, an artisan coffee roaster and manufacturer based in Somerset, asked us to design their new range of coffee capsule packaging. We’ve been working with Coffee Sense for a number years in the graphic design and development of their branding, their range of foil wrapped coffee pods and a variety of other marketing and packaging materials. Tidbury Media were commissioned to design and produce the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Rugby League annual sporting summary for the second consecutive year. 1000 copies of this high quality magazine are circulated throughout the Royal Navy and Royal Marines estates and ships as well as being displayed among other sporting titles throughout Royal Navy and Royal Marine Sports complexes. Copies are also mailed direct to Royal Navy Careers Offices nationwide. This attractive professionally designed digest-sized magazine is printed on high quality silk paper stock with a glossy laminated front cover. Play The Ball Magazine provides members of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines sporting community with an annual summary of events and achievements within the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Rugby League including forewords from the President and the Chairman along with stories from throughout the year.

Chevening, based in London, is the UK Government’s Global Awards Scholarship Programme for international students. To promote the programme for 2018/19 we teamed up to develop a fun idea to highlight the benefits of studying in the UK and to highlight that ‘learning’ is in everyday life, not just the classroom. To illustrate this the idea was to transform iconic UK landmarks into study or discussion scenes; be it a desk, a debating circle or a high table. We were commissioned to research and develop a series of eight UK landmarks (representing all regions of the UK) and to photograph Chevening’s actual scholars in the studio, to be placed into the landscapes. The final images feature within the marketing campaign available to Chevening outposts world-wide.

Partnered with author Edward Couzens-Lake, we were commissioned to design and produce Our Joyful Life, the biographical life story of Gary Hatt and Vera Thornhill. Based in Norwich the mother/son duo wanted to have their life story written and typeset into a professional book for posterity. A cathartic process for many – having the time to revisit moments in life for future generations to learn from and enjoy.

Their life’s ‘journey’ has been dominated by world travel and we wanted to represent that visually with optimism. The book is printed as a short run in both softback and hardback.

CPG provide a high-quality, customer-centred service to parish councils. With over 25 year’s local government experience, CPG’s mission is to maximise the quality of life and wellbeing of people and communities.

As a startup CPG tasked Tidbury Media with developing a brand identity and logo marque. Following this process we were able to begin production of a wide variety corporate literature and business stationery, providing the company with all required assets to start operating.

Children’s Author John Hodge came to us with a handful of illustrations and a short children’s story but didn’t know how to put all the elements together into a book. We were commissioned to create the book and typeset the story set against the supplied illustrations. We recommended resizing the book to make it more ergonomic for a child audience and introduced the opening pages. These were then digitally printed and perfect bound with a gloss laminate.

Between 2011 and 2018 we published Mayhem! Magazine (www.issuu.com/mayhemmagazine) a free culture and lifestyle magazine. We reached issue 50 in August 2018, with over 500,000 individual printed copies circulating, and realised that all good things must come to an end, so what better time to call it ‘a day’. It was a fantastic run and we had great fun, met loads of people and interviewed some inspiring people. You can still enjoy every single issue available on the above link. Groundlings Theatre in Portsmouth commissioned us to redesign their programme of shows. We used parts of their logo as a creative device for the cover and to influence the style throughout. The challenge was to create something attractive and engaging without compromising content within limited page numbers.

Marie Tidswell has led a life of real adventure, both personally and professionally, meandering through careers in nursing, teaching and chiropody all while conquering high seas on tall ships with teenage crew! Ramblings looks back at the tales and hilarities she’s encountered on her journey, and at the kaleidoscope of personalities she’s provided listening ears to whilst working as a chiropodist.

I had the pleasure of producing this book from her manuscript. The project involved creating a cover design and typesetting the manuscript. The book as scattered with bespoke illustrations by Allan Davies and Maries own photographs.

One Love Rum commissioned us to conceive a range of labels for their new flavoured rum drinks. We created a variety of designs for development which included imagery to represent the individual flavours. We were asked to create something tropical and fun that engaged with their target audience.

Adio, a CBD oil manufacturer asked us produce imagery of their products for their e-commerce website. The decision was made for computer generated imagery to be produced instead of product photography.

Westbourne Parish Council commissioned us to create a public information display back in 2022. Partnered with the Westbourne Local History Group it was decided Westbourne's rich history would become the overall focus and theme for the display. My job was to consult with the group and local residents, research and write the copy for the display, then create the design and manage the production process. At the end of the job, I also took care of installing the piece into the recessed window space which was previously used as a notice pin-board. The display features an aerial photograph of the village. The idea was to give local people a new perspective on the place they live, but also stimulate engagement by encouraging viewers to find their own homes. There is also a section of a map of the area dated 1640. Westbourne was home to some amazing people including Tim Peake. It was a privilege to work with the history group and councillors who were thrilled with the final result. I'm hoping this will lead to more opportunities.
